Attendance Policy

Dancers are solely responsible for their class attendance. If a dancer misses more than two classes of a single registered class, a required all school rehearsal or a dress rehearsal, they may not be eligible to perform in the end of semester performance. Dancers who miss more than two consecutive classes without communication with the school maybe automatically unenrolled with a partial refund for remaining classes minus a cancellation fee in order to accommodate waitlisted students. Dancers are also expected to be at class on time. Consistent tardiness and absences can result in failure of a student to advance at the end of the semester.

If a dancer misses a class that is in session, it is their responsibility to find an alternate or comparable class to take during the same semester to make-up for the missed class if they wish. If a dancer is not sure which classes are suitable, they should speak with their instructor or email the school for assistance. Once the semester has ended, make-up opportunities are no longer valid. MotionArts is not responsible for refunds or credits for missed classes. If a dancer can no longer attend a class due to a medical issue, a doctors statement must be presented and the dancer may choose to be issued a refund or a class credit good for the following semester.

School Closure Policy: MotionArts does NOT close if MCCSC closes! Rarely do we close due to weather, and only if roads in town are impassable or we have lost power. If we do close, we will post closures on the main page of our website and on our Face Book and Instagram pages by 2:00pm weekdays, and by 8:45am on Saturdays. If a class is cancelled due to teacher illness we will email or call you as soon as we are aware.

If MotionArts cancels a class due to inclement weather or teacher illness, MotionArts will schedule a class to make-up for the cancelled class. If a class is permanently cancelled due to low enrollment, a class credit without expiration or a refund will be issued per dancers choice.

If a dancer is enrolled in a class and chooses to withdraw for a medical reason, they will need a corresponding doctors note, they will be refunded the number of remaining classes minus a transaction fee. If a dancer chooses to withdraw for any other reason, they will be refunded the remaining number of classes minus a $25 cancellation fee per registered class. A dancer can also choose a credit toward another class the following semester. Due to our limited class sizes, if a dancer withdraws from classes more than twice for a non-medical reason, they will not be allowed to enroll in the future.
