Alice in Wonderland 2023 All School Performance Information
We are excited to present our all school performances of Alice in Wonderland on December 2nd at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater! The information below contains everything you need to know about our in studio run-throughs, dress rehearsals and performance day details. PLEASE READ the entirety of this packet! Your dancer is expected to attend all required rehearsals.
We have two performances on December 2nd: CAST A at 2:00pm and CAST B at 7:00pm. Please refer to the list below to find your dancers cast. Rehearsal times will depend on your child’s cast/performance time. Please note Ballet 3/4, 4, 4/5, 5 & 5/6 and Lyrical 3/4 & 5 as well as mini MAD and MAD Co. will perform in both shows!

November 18th REQUIRED IN STUDIO RUN-THROUGH:
This required rehearsal at MotionArts on Saturday, November 18th will be the only chance our dancers have to run the show in its entirety before dress rehearsals. Saturday morning classes will still take place as usual.
CAST A should arrive at MotionArts at 1:20pm to rehearse 1:30-2:45pm.
CAST B should arrive at MotionArts at 3:05pm to rehearse 3:15-4:30pm.

DRESS REHEARSALS at the Buskirck– Chumley Theater:
Dress Rehearsal at The Buskirk Chumley Theater for CAST A (2:00pm Show) will take place on Friday, December 1st. ACT I dancers will rehearse 5:30-7:00pm, ACT II dancers will rehearse 7:00-8:30pm. A Parent may stay and quietly watch. Once your dancer’s class has finished, we ask you leave the rehearsal in order to open up space for incoming dancers.
Dress Rehearsal at The Buskirk Chumley Theater for CAST B (7:00pm Show) ACT I & ACT II will take place on Saturday, December 2nd 10:00-11:30am. A Parent may stay and quietly watch. Once your dancer’s class has finished, we ask you leave the rehearsal in order to open up space for incoming dancers. (If your class is in both shows and has already rehearsed December 1st you do not need to attend this rehearsal).
PERFORMANCE DAY:
CAST A (2:00pm Show): Please drop off your dancer READY TO DANCE (leave all coats, bags, shoes etc. with parent) at the main entrance of the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on December 2nd by 1:10pm. Dancers will be directed to their assigned area to put on costumes and be organized with their teacher/group leader. Dancers will remain with their teacher/leader for the show, sitting in the student section with their class. If a dancer is in more than one dance, their teachers will make sure they are handed off to the next teacher. Older students ages 9+ in multiple dances may report to the downstairs dressing room and remain there for the show after checking in. The doors open for seating at 1:30, show starts at 2:00pm and should end at approximately 3:15pm. There will be a full cast bow at the end of the show. Dancers must return costumes neatly to their assigned area in the marked bins and be checked out before leaving the theater.

Dancers will be directed to their assigned area to put on costumes and be organized with their teacher/group leader. Dancers will remain with their teacher/leader for the show, sitting in the student section with their class. If a dancer is in more than one dance, their teachers will make sure they are handed off to the next teacher. Older students ages 9+ in multiple dances may report to the downstairs dressing room and remain there for the show after checking in. The doors open for seating at 6:30, show starts at 7:00pm and should end at approximately 8:15pm. There will be a full cast bow at the end of the show. Dancers must return costumes neatly to their assigned area in the marked bins and be checked out before leaving the theater.
PERFORMANCE FEE: this $25.00 fee is due Monday November 6th. It can be paid online or at the front desk. This fee covers your dancer’s costume rental and extra rehearsal time.
TICKETS: tickets can only be purchased through the Buskirk-Chumley Theater website (https:// buskirkchumley.org/events/) or in person at their box office 114 E. Kirkwood Ave, Bloomington, IN 47408 Your dancer does not need a ticket since they will be in the student section.
Costume Requirements by Class:
Your dancer may receive a costume the last week of classes that they need to wear for dress rehearsals and performances. This costume must be returned at the theater at the end of the performance. Some costumes will be distributed at the theater by their teacher and again must be returned after the performance. Your dancer will need to supply the following:
Preballet: Girls: Pink narrow strap leotard (no skirts), tights optional since costume includes leggings, pink ballet slippers, hair in bun. Boys: Black biker shorts, black ballet slippers.
Ballet 1: Black narrow strap leotard, pink tights with feet, pink ballet slippers, hair in bun
Ballet 2: Black narrow strap leotard, pink tights with feet, pink ballet slippers, hair in bun.
Ballet 3: Black narrow strap leotard, pink tights with feet, pink shoes, hair in bun.
Ballet 3/4, 4, 4/5, 5, 5/6 : Black narrow strap leotard, pink tights, ballet slippers, hair in bun.
Lyrical 3/4 & 5: Black narrow strap leotard, pink tights, ballet slippers, hair in bun.
Contemporary 1 & 2: black narrow strap leotard, black leggings, bare feet, hair in bun.
Contemporry 3 & 4: Black narrow strap leotard, pink convertible tights, bare feet, hair in bun.
Jazz 1, 2, 3, 4: Black narrow strap leotard (no skirts), black leggings, black jazz shoes, hair in bun.
Tap 1, 2, & 3: Girls: Black narrow strap leotard without attached skirt, black leggings black socks if needed black tap shoes, hair in bun. Boys: plain white short sleeved t-shirt, plain black leggings, black socks, black tap shoes.
ALL COSTUMES AND ACCESSORIES MUST BE RETURNED AT THE THEATER BEFORE LEAVING!
