MAD Co. is open to advanced dancers ages 12-18. Dancers should be at a minimum level of Ballet 3 and experience in Contemporary and Lyrical dance is helpful. Our Audition for the 2023 Spring Semester will be January 7th 4:00-5:30pm at MotionArts. The Audition will consist of a ballet barre followed by both ballet and contemporary combinations at center.
Class Requirements: If chosen, members must enroll in a minimum of one ballet class and 2 additional technique classes of choice each week (pointe students must take a minimum of 2 ballet classes per week) in addition to company class on Saturdays before rehearsal.
Rehearsals are on Saturdays and occur weekly. Additional rehearsals may be added depending on casting and upcoming performances. Students will perform in a variety of dance genres depending on their interests, abilities, and casting needs.
Attendance is crucial. Dancers are expected to attend their weekly classes and rehearsals to maintain their company member status (with the exception of the summer session). If a dancer cannot attend, the School Director must be notified immediately. If a dancer misses more then the allowed number of excused absences (2 classes per enrolled class and 2 rehearsals per semester), they will not be allowed to participate in the company performances. Dancers may have opportunities to make up missed classes within a two week time frame of their missed class.
Performances consist of our final show at the end of each semester, as well as additional performances around Bloomington and surrounding communities. All performances are considered mandatory to maintain eligibility.
Semester Company Fee: $250 (non-refundable) this covers all Rehearsals and Saturday Company Class as well as costumes (not the required weekly classes). Check out our Unlimited Class package- if your child is a member of the company, this would also include the company fee! If your child is interested or you have questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 812-961-0501.
